Reinventing Sunday Sanctuary

Sunday Sanctuary is bringing overtly spiritual discussions to a new audience. (Pictured: Guest, Rev Neihana Reihana) •

Our brand-new show Sunday Sanctuary, a safe place to explore spirituality, Christian faith and the deeper questions of life, is searching for a new home following the demise of Today FM in March.

Sunday Sanctuary, hosted by Petra Bagust, had only been on the airwaves for six weeks when Today FM shut down – but it clearly made a huge impact on listeners during its short life on air.

One person told us it had “literally restored her faith in faith”, another called it “absolutely stunning and incredibly moving” and a third told us their “soul is nourished” with every listen.

This is just a tiny fraction of the messages we received, and the response has made us determined to keep Sunday Sanctuary going.

For now, we are releasing the show as a podcast on MediaWorks’ rova platform, which is a great short-term solution while we search for a new permanent home. •
