Christmas: News in brief

CBA Quiz Night

In October, we kicked off our very first CBA Quiz Night fundraiser in Auckland, and what a blast it was! We were joined by 70 supporters, friends, and whānau for a fun-filled evening with great trivia, laughs, and tasty mocktails that raised more than $4,000. A huge shout out to St James Camel Riders Club for taking home the top prize!

The evening was full of good vibes, with a round of trivia celebrating the exciting ways God’s heart is shared through CBA’s media ministries. Stay tuned – more Quiz Nights are coming to major centres in 2025. We can’t wait to see you there.

Media Prayer Day

On Labour Weekend, more than 270 churches across New Zealand took time to pray for people working in the media as part of Media Prayer Day.

This year, we also helped launch the Global Day of Prayer for Media, which united Christian organisations around the world. Across 24 hours, starting in NZ, more than 2,000 believers from Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe, and North and South America took part in a live-video, praying for wisdom and integrity to guide those working in the media. It was an inspiring global movement of prayer.

Media Chaplaincy hui

For the first time in nearly a decade of being God’s hands and feet in media through Media Chaplaincy, we gathered our chaplains from across New Zealand for a hui to celebrate, upskill, and plan for the future.

With plenty of coffee, kai, and conversations, we reflected on the incredible growth of the Media Chaplaincy team, which has expanded from three team members to 15 in the last few years, serving in centres all over New Zealand. What a journey it’s been!
