Easter articles reach more than 300,000 readers

Media chaplain Rev Scottie Reeve (inset) was commissioned by xvox to pen an article about forgiveness that was published in The Post. •

xvox, CBA’s initiative seeking to deepen coverage of faith in mainstream media, continues to bring compelling Christian voices to secular audiences.

Over Easter, four articles about the significance of Jesus’ death and resurrection were picked up by major news outlets.

Two of these pieces – one by Rev Scottie Reeve (who is also a media chaplain) about forgiveness, and another about the meaning of Good Friday by theologian Dr Andrew Shepherd – formed a double-page spread in The Post, The Press and The Waikato Times, which have a combined daily readership of 300,000.

Another editorial about embracing our enemies by Wellington Bishop Justin Duckworth appeared in the country’s most-read publication, The NZ Herald, and a fourth Easter message about metamorphosis, by writer Tash McGill, featured in Newshub. •
