History-making Bible recording

Anameka Paenga, Tumaki/Co-Principal of Te Wānanga Ihorangi, records a portion of the Book of Matthew in Te Reo Māori at CBA’s studio.

Your giving is enabling the Bible to be recorded in the Māori language for the very first time.

Faith-based Māori language school Te Wānanga Ihorangi and the Bible Society NZ are together embarking on an ambitious three-year project to professionally record all 66 books of Te Paipera Tapu (the Māori Bible), and we’re excited that this is taking place in CBA’s studio. Amid the resurgence of Māori language, we are delighted to be playing a part in making the audio version of the Bible available to speakers of te reo Māori. •
